Mireya Eavey

Ms. Eavey is the Chief Workforce Strategist for The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and CareerEdge Funders Collaborative, an organization that connects funders, educators, employers and community-based organizations to educate, train, employ and promote employees. With these two roles, Ms. Eavey works closely with employment partners and donors, bringing people together to create programs that help people increase their skills and get promoted, while strengthening companies and businesses along with the growth of the individual.

Before joining CareerEdge Ms. Eavey held the position of Workforce and Project Manager for the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) of Sarasota County, where she doubled involvement in workforce development, building relationships with 80 employers, community organizations, officials, municipalities and numerous advisory boards.

Ms. Eavey’s commitment to helping families attain economic security is also earning accolades. Career Source Suncoast honored Mireya’s accomplishments with the Workforce Leadership Award in 2013 ​and in 2015, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business named her Female Executive of the Year. ​In 2016, ​she was named Philanthropic Newsmaker of the Year​ by SRQ Magazine​​. ​

Ms. Eavey is the vice-chair board member of the Manatee Community Federal Credit Union and the incoming board chair of the Florida Policy Institute. She is a board member of the Suncoast 211 organization and the Talent4Tomorrow LCAN committee, and serves on the Public Policy Committee at United Way of Florida.

Ms. Eavey holds a MBA with a concentration in Sustainable Systems Management, a BA in Business Administration and certificates in Human Resource Management and International Business. She lives in Sarasota, Florida.
