Annual report ranks Polk County 51st out of 67 in Florida for childhood well-being

"Polk County ranks 51st out of Florida’s 67 counties for childhood well-being, according to a report released by the Florida Policy Institute [emphasis added].

That is an improvement from last year, when the report had Polk in 55th place.

The 2022 Florida Child Well-Being Index rates counties based on 16 indications in four categories: economic well-being, education, health and family and community. The nonprofit developed the rankings using data from Kids County, an annual survey from the Annie E. Casey Foundation."
