Simran Chugani is a Master of Health Administration candidate at Johns Hopkins University, marathoner, and spoken word poet whose work lies at the intersection of storytelling, community-building, and having as much fun as possible. Across their health care and artist practices, their work is driven by ancestral knowledge, a dedication to honor the land we belong to, and a commitment to grow community-based networks of care. Chugani’s poetry has been featured by Write About Now, the Timucua Arts Foundation, and Point of Pride. Chugani is the author of the poetry chapbook "florida, i love you violent," through the sales of which they raised thousands of dollars to support access to gender-affirming care for Floridians and transgender people around the world.
