Originally from Argentina, Cintia Elenstar is a global sustainability strategist and a design thinker committed to social justice and a holistic approach to finding solutions. As the executive director of UnidosNow, Cintia applies her diverse skill set to identify ways to innovate and advance the nonprofit’s mission.
At the onset of the pandemic, Cintia adapted the organization’s flagship program, the Future Leadership Academy (FLA), to a fully online format, ensuring that students’ progress toward achieving their academic dreams could continue. Cintia has also spearheaded UnidosNow’s College Success program, which provides direct support and connections to resources for over 100 first-generation, low-income students so they can complete their degrees and realize their fullest potential.
Before joining UnidosNow, she served as education administrator at a botanical garden, where she coordinated classes for community members and supported the volunteer management program. Cintia also has experience teaching English as a second language to New Americans in underserved communities and working as a legal assistant supervisor in a public defender’s office.
A former business owner, Cintia started her travel company in Argentina as a one-woman operation and quickly grew it to a team of 25 employees. Through that experience, she gained insight into the importance of customer service, how to lead a team effectively, and the value of empowering others.
A firm believer in lifelong learning, Cintia holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in sustainability management from St. Petersburg College and several certifications in sustainability and ESOL teaching. In addition, she is a Certified Nonprofit Professional via the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in nonprofit management at the University of Central Florida (UCF).
